Course Description

This workshop examines trauma, resilience, and how trauma affects young children and families. It also offers practical strategies for reflection and application to nurture resilience in ourselves, children, and families.
 

Course Objectives

Teachers will:

  • Identify sources of trauma and resilience in early childhood.
  • Examine how trauma affects children’s development and behavior.
  • Identify possible triggers of trauma in their own early learning environment.
  • Apply a trauma-lens to interpret behavior of children and adults.
  • Practice strategies to support children who have experienced trauma.
  • Plan and practice nurturing their own resilience to foster resilience in children
